Main Exhibition Room: Culture that Sprouted from the Land
Cultural Heritage Preserved and Passed Down Since Ancient Times
The area that is now Bungo Ono was once covered by a huge pyroclastic flow from the Aso Volcano. Bungo Ono's forebears developed a wide range of cultural practices that make use of its topography, geology, and flora and fauna.
ZONE 4 features exhibits that show using a variety of methods Bungo Ono's cultural heritage that has been passed down since ancient times, with a focus on the city's distinctive masonry that makes use of its rich stone resources.
